Morian Christmas Newsletter

Let me start by saying that Kimmy worked really hard making a beautiful powerpoint presentation of our annual newsletter. Then had difficulties with it. She ended up saving it as a pdf file and e-mailing that out. Hopefully some of you got it. It would be good to know if you did get it, and if you had any trouble with it. I came here this morning with the intention of putting it up here, but then realized that I can't post pdf files. Only video and photos.....I'll have to figure something out. In the mean time, please do let us know if you didn't receive your newsletter e-mail, and/or couldn't view it. It really is pretty. She did a great job. I will post the text and a few pics, and there are some more on my page as well. Love to all. ~Jennifer

I hope this finds you all well as we celebrate this Christmas season. I am well and have had a very productive year. I sold my house in Indiana in February and became a full-time RVer, so I have done a lot of traveling this year.

I started the year in Florida before going to Vikki's in Alabama to start her new house in the spring. In April I went to Iowa to see my 12th grandchild, Christopher's daughter, Isabel (Izzy), who was born April 2nd.

I spent most of the summer in Alabama working with Vikki on her house. Christopher and his family came down and spent a week with us. He was a big help with some of the heavier work. I went back to Indiana for the last part of the summer to rest and to figure out what to do with a house-full of stuff and no house.

This fall I went to Marble Falls, Texas, to work with the RVICS at the Camp of the Hills. I spent Thanksgiving day in Alabama with Vikki, Jennifer, Mary, and their families. Then I went to Indiana for Thanksgiving Sunday dinner with Kim, Christopher, Jennifer (again), and their families, and also to see my 13th grandchild, Kim's son Trevor, who was born October 12th.

I will soon be leaving for Florida to once again work at the Park of the Palms in Keystone Heights for the winter, or until Vikki sells her house and is ready to finish working on her new one.

I have changed my mailing address to Alabama. You can reach me at:

I pray for a blessed Christmas for each of you, and a New Year filled with hope and purpose as we watch for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Randy

Well, here we are again at the end of another year. Time to reflect on all of the accomplishments and changes in our lives over the past 12 months. This has been a year of change for the Lucas family. In March we put our house in Calera up for sale - it hasn't sold yet but we are hoping and praying that it will soon. We broke ground in the spring in Jemison and spent the hot Alabama summer building our new house. The kids love being on "the land". We have 2 1/2 acres and lots of trees. Dad put in a basketball court for us and we are all looking forward to starting a garden in the spring.

David turned 6 in June, is getting very tall, still skinny, and is in the first grade. He reads and writes well and is really good at math. He started art class this year and loves it. He is very creative and loves to draw. He started basketball this fall - finally he doesn't have to just sit and watch Mikala!

Mikala turned 11 in November and proud of the fact that she is officially as tall as her mother. She is in 6th grade and loves spelling and reading. She is in her 4th year of art class and her 6th year playing basketball (she's a good 10" taller than the rest of her team!).

Mike is still working hard for SunGard in Birmingham. He was able to take a little time off and help us work on the house. It was a nice change of pace for him. He still plays piano at church and is helping coach David's basketball team - that's interesting!

I am still helping lead worship and doing dramas at our Hispanic church, as well as teaching guitar, homeschooling my kids, and trying to keep my house picture perfect for potential buyers. I enjoyed working on my new house over the summer with Dad and Christopher and everybody else who helped us. I'm looking forward to finishing it up and moving in soon!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hello, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, & Happy New Year from the Frye side of the Morian clan.

As is typical, this year has flown by very quickly. It has been a busy, busy year filled with many joys and heartaches. I love that we can connect with so many of you on facebook, and through e-mail. That never makes up for spending time with you in person, but it sure does help keep in touch. I would also encourage everyone to keep up with us on our blog, "Randy's Angels" at www.hhourdday44.blogspot.com/ which will hopefully have some new and wonderful pictures and things by the time you get this. This newsletter will be posted there as well. (at least, that is the plan)

Let's see.....Brad and I are still working at our local public library. We are privileged to work together, without working together. Share rides and lunch together, but not constantly together. It is a pretty great arrangement. We even got to make a trip to Denver together in October for a conference, which was great.

Laura is 19, and has had a big year. She graduated from high school in June, and is now attending Franklin College (go Grizzlies!). She is studying Studio Art with an emphasis on graphic design, and has talked about minoring in journalism. Recently, she began a work study job in one of the offices on campus. She is not working many hours yet, but is guaranteed the job through May, and really enjoys it. It is a secretarial position, and in future she will also be doing a little graphic design for them in making posters and such.

Connor just turned 11, and is in 5th grade. He is in the student council this year, and really enjoying that. He is still a very active, and imaginative boy, and can still wear me out pretty quickly. He is enjoying all the snow we have been getting. (I think we are getting all of the precipitation that we didn't get during the summer.)

I know this is a rush job, and doesn't nearly sum up our entire year. You'll just have to ask if you want to know more, I guess. : )

We wish you all a very blessed, safe, and wonderful holiday season!

With Love,

Brad, Jennifer, Laura and Connor Frye

Happy holidays from the Sadler family! This has been an eventful year for us. Mark is still working for REMC trimming trees, I’m still a stay at home mom and the kids are growing like weeds! We got to take our first family vacation in February. We started at Vikki’s, and then drove down to Gulf Shores area where my mother and father in law live. After a short visit with them we drove to see daddy in the Gainesville Florida area. The main event was Disney world; the kids (as well as Mark and I) loved it! Daddy, the kids and I visited Christopher and family for Labor Day weekend. We went to old thrashers and also to a car show. I enjoyed spending time with them, and I know the kids loved spending time with Aunt Jana! We also drove down to Vikki’s for Thanksgiving and then drove down to spend a few days with my in-laws again. It wasn’t a very long trip, but a much needed break from the daily grind.

Mark has been doing some side work trimming trees, working towards trying to get his business going. I had the first reconstructive surgeries on my right foot in June. I was in a wheelchair and unable to drive most of the summer. It has been a challenge for me and is still quite sore. I am looking to do the left foot as soon as the doctor says I can, hopefully before summer 2011. For the meanwhile I am living with two different shoe sizes, both sore in their own way. My RA is still a bother; I am seeing a new Doctor now, my previous one retired to Arizona in February.

Tai turned 14 in April and started high school (9th grade) in August. She played softball again this summer, and enjoys hanging out with her friends. She has been going regularly to a youth group with her friends on Wednesday nights. Recently Ramsay has started going to the youth meetings and he seems to enjoy it as well. He turned 13 and also started middle school (7th grade) in August. He played football for the 7th grade this year. He started as a receiver, but also played safety and some other positions. I think he likesto be the one doing the tackling, not being tackled. Both Tai and Ramsay are doing well in school.

John turned 5 on December 1st. It is hard to believe my baby is getting so old. According to him he isn’t my baby anymore though! He hasn’t started school yet, but we work at home on things. He is still in the Thomas the train phase, anything to do with trains really.

As always please continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers!

We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Where does the time go? Seems like I was just writing this for 2009 J

So…in February we realized that we were going to add to the Floyd bunch. It was a bit of an adventure for us, and very much a blessing. Trevor Raiden was born on October 12th 2010. He weighed in at a hefty 6lbs 2ozs & was 20 inches long. My biggest! He is now 10 weeks old and weighs 11 lbs-I know! Wow-growing fast! Trevor has succeeded in winning the hearts of all that get to know him (as if it were possible to resist his charm)!

Travis Ray turned eight in May; waiting patiently (or maybe the opposite of that) for Mommy to have his baby brother, it was a long wait for him. He is an awesome big brother. He is in the third grade and is starting to read a lot more. He discovered the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” books and can’t seem to put them down once he starts. This past Summer Travis played Baseball for the first time (it has been soccer in the past). Not only did he prove to be a fast learner, but he loved it!

Tori Sue….is now 12 (just turned on Dec 6th) and in the sixth grade. Having a twelve year old is like having a built in baby sitter; she loves getting to hold her baby brother, burp him, change his diapers, or whatever he needs. Tori likes to read and loves to do crafts. She has been a big help this past summer, helping Grandma with flea marketing (since Grandpa passed away last winter). Softball this past summer and volley ball coming up in January, it is always fun to watch them play!

As for Tony and I….well, not a lot has changed; with the exception of the addition of Trevor. I just returned to work on the 13th of December, and must say I am not enjoying being away from my baby.

Tony is still working for the Street Department, and is on the volunteer fire department here in town. Racing/wrecking/watching a derby car is still his number one hobby.

From our family to all of yours- have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!!

The Iowa Morian crew (written by Kim)

Still residing in Stockport Iowa, the crew just got a little bigger this past spring. Isabel Faith was born on April 2nd. She is such a great baby girl, with the cutest little cheeks you can’t help but kiss.

Logan will be four in January. He is so much a little Christopher; which is funny to some, with the exception of Jana and Christopher who have to try to keep him from hurting himself or anybody else who gets in the way.

Emma Grace turned 5 in August. She is a big help with her new little sister. And her giggle is quite contagious! You hear it and can’t help but laugh too.

Christopher is still with Morton Building Company as well as his Reserve Unit there in Iowa and is set to be deployed in January.

Jana is a stay at home Mom and loves it. I am sure she is not looking forward to Christopher being gone.

All of your thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated during this time…for the family as well as for Christopher.
